Known as much for her firecracker personality as her glowing face, 20-year-old Arlenis Sosa (here, backstage at Badgley Mischka spring 2010) is one of fashion’s newest darlings. Discovered in early 2008 by a local designer in her native Dominican Republic, Sosa was quickly scooped up by Marilyn Model Agency. In just over a year and a half, the bright-eyed beauty has shown unprecedented versatility, appearing in a diverse range of magazines including Time, i-D and Italian Vogue. Additionally, she has become the face of iconic labels such as Lancome and the Gap. We spoke with Sosa after she wrapped up Paris fashion week and headed for the D.R. for some much-needed R&R.

Tell us about your favorite show this season.I loved Oscar de la Renta. He shows the elegance of women. My favorite look was his dark blue dress.
What kept you going during such a long slate of shows?I made sure to train and eat right. I also always kept water, vitamin C, nuts and fruits with me at all times. On set, I listened to Christian, romantic and merengue music to keep me relaxed.
What parties were you most excited about this season?Calvin Klein. Alexander Wang and Helmut Lang’s Fashion Night Out events were also fun.
